	The American magazine “Harpers Abroad” wrote “North Island lets us know what real life feels like”, when in 2005 they chose the island resort as the best hotel in the world. Intended as a Noah’s Ark in the Indian Ocean, the lodge has completely redefined the term luxury – as an architectonic eco-system offering the highest standard of comfort while merging completely into the cycle of the surrounding environment.


	Eleven villas which can be opened on all sides and have a grand living area of 450 m2 were integrated into this small tropical paradise. The furnishings are of the finest craftsmanship and yet extremely puristic: from the organic shape of the lamps to the scrubbed planks, from the quarry stone in the bathrooms to ancient tree trunks supporting mighty domed roofs covered in Balinese Alangalang Grass, the design yields to the blueprint of nature.


	The resort is part of an extensive conservation programme to restore the island to its natural state. A Robinsonade could not be more ingenious. A spa, a diving centre and a fitness centre, amongst other things, are available for the few guests. The restaurant can satisfy even the most exclusive tastes.

	Services	The cuisine of North Island is based on the diversity and cultural influences which, in part, make up the Seychellois Creole flavour.
