Alphonse Island - a fly fishermen´s paradise: Unique paradise in the Amirantes


	Alphonse Island: 7 degrees south of the Equator and 400km (250 miles) south west of Mahé, the Alphonse Atoll lies in the very heart of the Indian Ocean and is part of the Alphonse Group of Atolls. Beautiful white beaches line the edges of the dense natural forest where you will find ancient ambling tortoises, scurrying crabs and an interesting array of bird species.


	The Alphonse Resort is currently undergoing refurbishment in order to provide guests afterwards with an exclusive holiday destination. As a flyfishermen´s paradise the resort will continue operating during the fishing season (October to May) for passionate fly fishermen. There will be a reduced number of rooms available, accommodating 10 rods based on single occupancy. The bungalows are set in neatly maintained gardens and are dotted along the East side of Alphonse.


	Considered a fly fishers paradise, the Alphonse group of atolls boasts numerous attributes that make it unique. To ensure a flyfishing experience of a lifetime, an international team of knowledgable guides are on hand to share both our passion for this unique fishery and its environment.

Package running from Saturday to Saturday includes:

	Accommodation	The quaint bungalows are set in neatly maintained gardens and are dotted along the East side of Alphonse. Each has a thatched roof and sea-facing veranda and is approximately sixty square meters in size. All bungalows are air-conditioned, have a direct access telephone systems from which international calls can be made as well as a television and mini-bar. Each has a large queen-size bed (twin beds on request), a spacious en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi-style bath and a glorious outside shower. For added comfort, there is a ceiling fan and a mosquito net.
	Amenities	During the refurbishing of the resort, facilities will include snorkeling facilities, tennis and cycling. The resort has internet access. Meals will be served in the ever-popular “Le Lys” bar and adjoining beach. Please note that room-meal-service is not offered at the Resort.
	Activities	Flyfishing, Snorkeling, Reef Walks, Nature Walks and Cycling, Tennis
	Distances	Flights are one hour direct from Mahé and twenty minutes longer when there is a scheduled stopover at neighbouring Desroches. Scheduled flights travel between Mahé and Alphonse on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Please note that overnight accommodation may need to be arranged on day of the arrival of an international flight and one night prior to departure of international flights. Private charter flights can be arranged depending upon availability of aircraft. Please be aware of the 15 kilogram per guest baggage limit on all inter-island flights. Additional fees will be charged to guests who exceed this limit.
	Advice	The construction work will not take place where the present structure is set, so that guest are only very little disturbed. The machines will be operating only during fishing hours when fly fishing guests are on St. Francois.
