The straw-covered roofs based on African designs rise up like small volcanic mountains out of the lush splendour of plants.

With a wide selection of luxury accommodation in three different categories, this exclusive resort is located right by the wonderfully white Turtle Beach by the side of a turquoise lagoon. Under a brilliant blue sky, guests will enjoy the highest standards of comfort in complete privacy.

Transitions from the outside to the inside are fluent. High ceilings and large glass fronts let lots of light and lightness into the comfortable living areas. The simple elegance of the comfortable furnishings is captivating.
Made from the wood of coconut palms and North American oak, the pale-coloured furniture is well matched to Mauritius' cheerful mood and it is complemented by African and Asian decorations.

The bathrooms are also fitted with pale-coloured natural materials. The striking edging of the mirror was produced on the model of an antique jewellery casket.

Balinese stonemasonry has been integrated into the design to represent the Asian influence, introducing an exotic accent in-between luscious green or in stone alcoves.

Whether indoors or outdoors, bathing in the Oberoi is an experience all of its own. The bathroom is light and open to the outside and from the sunken bathtub you can enjoy a view into a still life garden scene.

Mythical beings and a narrow archway escort you outside into a spacious swimming area.
The pool landscape in the centre of the resort is also very much a sign of the Asian cultural heritage. Clear water splashes down into the blue oasis from the tall stone pillar with Balinese ornamentation. Natural stone walls made from the island's coloured volcanic stone and blossoming gardens surround the pool and sun-decks. In the background, the sugar-cane covered roofs rise up between tall palm trees. The nearby Lagoon Pool Restaurant is there to spoil you with drinks and light meals.

The pool and beach areas blend almost seamlessly into one other. That means you can relax on the sun-deck and look out over the indigo blue of the pool onto the shimmering turquoise of the ocean.
The Oberoi offers numerous maritime activities: snorkelling in the lagoon, windsurfing, sailing or water-skiing. There are regular long catamaran excursions as well as short cruises and boat-trips along the coast.

The restaurant with its tall pillars represents a piece of colonial past. You can enjoy the evening hours in the open air under its long, overhanging roof.
Against the breathtaking backdrop of the mountains, you can enjoy the quiet life on the magnificent white beach. The near-by Baie aux Tortues is the island's only national marine park.

The beach bar is a popular place to get together for an aperitif.
